Easy art painting ideas are all around you.
Just waiting to be discovered and painted. In your kitchen, refrigerator, basement or attic.
If you are looking for how to improve your creativity and your painting skills, one simple place to start is the inside of your frig.
Apples, pears, kumquats and melons.
These are great fruit painting ideas for beginners.
They are fairly simple objects. Anyone can paint an apple or a pear, right?
They provide wonderful opportunities to play with composition.
You can learn how to improve your creativity a lot by spending the time to consciously arrange your subjects in interesting ways.
And use colors that work well together.
But, these easy painting ideas can be less than stellar painting experiences if you don't put enough thought into them.
Below is an example of how not to do it.
When you do these easy art painting ideas, please realize that you are
using common, ordinary objects that we've all seen a million times.
We all know what they look like.
Just sticking them on a piece of paper or canvas doesn't make them art.
Doing a fairly accurate depiction of them doesn't make them interesting.
And they can be made even less interesting when you neglect their surroundings, like I did above.
One of the best painting art tips I can give you is that your painting is usually a rectangle. Everything inside that rectangle needs to be interesting.
Too often I see backgrounds that are only a little bit of color thrown in to fill space.
Instead of consciously created to compliment and enhance the star of your picture.
Think about this.
Have you ever seen a movie or TV show with a couple actors on a mostly barren set?
Of course not.
Props on the set are vital to help make the story interesting and help the actors tell that story.
The same is true in art.
When I arranged the objects below for this art painting idea, I purposely did not make the surroundings interesting.
I wanted to show you how to improve your creativity by creating the surroundings.
By beginning to exercise that imagination of yours.
Remember: The surroundings should be interesting without competing with the stars of your picture.
And the surroundings should provide the set in which your stars tell your story.
So, what would you do to improve this picture?
How would you paint these fruit in more interesting surroundings? And which fruit would you make the star of the art?
To create art painting ideas that are exciting, these are the questions you must answer.
This is one of the paintings I did to answer these questions I posed.
It isn't the only possible solution.
It's just one to consider.

Without art the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable. (George Bernard Shaw)
P.S. And while you are considering this painting, ask yourself some more questions.
Questions that could help you create similar art painting ideas.
● What reason did I have for using this color scheme?
● How did I change the fruit in this painting and why?
● Do you see any part of the surroundings in the photograph that became part of the painting?
I'll show you a much different version of this easy painting idea next time.
